| So far you have created a folder in your (C:) Drive. Learned how to store a document in this same folder. And now you would like to retrieve your document. |
Here's How:
- Right click on Start.
- Left click on Explore.
- On the Folder side of the desktop (left half of window), scroll up to (C:). Under (C:) look for your New Folder. All entries below C: are in alphabetical order. Left click on this folder and on the right hand side of the desktop, (workspace) you will see the document that you placed in this folder.
- If you double click this document it will open for your viewing.
- After viewing your document, Exit out and then if you have no further need for Explore, Exit out of it as well.
Beemer Tip:
When creating the new folder and you entered the folders name, you can make it a little bit easier to find the folder by Placing an "A" in front of the folders name. e.g.: "A Gene's Stuff" or "A Gene's Photo Album" or "A Gene's Tutorials". In this way you will create a group of folders that reside under C: at the top of the alphabetical order.
|
Another Tip:
| You can further define your storage of files by creating "Sub Folders" in each of the folders you have created. |
For e.g.:
|
Lets say that you have started a jokes folder in C:\ called "A Steve's Jokes" (or what ever your name is) There are a lot of different kinds of jokes out there that you will receive from your contacts on the Net. Picture Jokes, Animated Jokes, Wav files, Movie Jokes, etc. Highlight "A Steve's Jokes" and do the folder creation thing as described previously maybe using some of the joke types I have described above. This will further categorize your joke folder with sub folders for an easier find when wanting to send it to someone or show a friend looking over your shoulder. |
That was even easier! If you need any further assistance,
