| Win98 has a setting
to search for new floppy disk drives, that is set to
"On" by the default check mark. You can uncheck this for a
faster bootup if you dont have any new disk drives. The setting of "On" is usually used for laptops that require a boot disk for the startup process.
Click Start, Settings, Control Panel and double-click the
System icon. Click the Performance tab, and click the
File System tab. Click on the Floppy Disk thumb tab, uncheck
